Rest to recover-Day 3

Well im taking today as a rest day to allow my muscles to recover from the past two days workout. Its really important that you give your muscles time to repair and grow after you have exhausted them. If you dont allow muscles time to recover then the whole exercise is counter productive and you are setting yourself up for an injury.

On days off i would normally go swimming or do some other form of easy exercise. Since my muscles are still pretty sore (obviously due to not being used to the 3 sets of 12 im doing) then all i have done is a few light stretches, holding none of them for more than 20seconds. I find that after exercise my muscles will feel stiff and doing some stretching exercises is great for loosening them up.

Tomorrow is back onto chest, triceps, shoulders and abs.

TIP of the Day: Give your muscles time to recover. Listen to your body and allow plenty of rest, it wont repair and grow stronger if you dont give it time to do so. Stretching is a great way to loosen up and take away some of the stiffness you get from weight training.
